Germany's Case Company!
The Suitcases With the Grooves

In 1898 Paul Morszeck founded the Rimowa Company in Cologne Germany!

In 1937 Richard Morszeck made his first flight on an all metal aircraft. Noticing how metal was grooved, he discovered that those grooves strengthened the metal skin of the plane.

Using this technology, he produced the first metal suitcases!

Now, more then 100 years after Paul Morszeck founded the Rimowa factory, Rimowa is the oldest luggage manufacturer in Germany and produces the World's Best - and - the Lightest luggage!

Rimowa now offers a full range of aluminum and polycarbonate suitcases, attaches, pilot cases, etc. The Rimowa products are regularly featured in movies, (Ronin, Air Force One, etc.) and on TV (Price is Right), CSI, West Wing among others.

The world famous Topas series has been in continuous production for over 50 years! Half a century of proven quality and design in what is probably the world's most famous aluminum luggage design, and the most popular.

Topas is offered in a choice of two wheel trolley designs or Rimowa's popular 2+4 four wheel design. The 2+4 alows the cases to be effortlessly rolled on 4 whells or tipped to roll on 2. This lets the case navigate very tight and narrow areas as the narrow dimension of the case is easily taken through corridors or crowded airports!

The Topas series uses new, high security combination locks as well as keyed lock. The vertical combination console shows only the numbers dialed in eliminating any confusion in setting or retrieving the combination! It also ensures that you can tell at a glance if the combination is set!

Like all Rimowa cases Topas is instantly identified by the distinctive Rimowa grooves that are the Rimowa trademark. The grooved material adds tremendous strength to the case while allowing thinner material to be used. This results in an extremely strong case yet a light one. The best of both worlds! Corners are reinforced for added protection and oversized desk chair wheels make rolling a breeze - on any surface!

Topas cases are available in trolley designs from carry on size to 31" and in 2+4 designs from 25.6 to 31.5" sizes Topas also has a Beauty Case, Attache Case, a hand bag and a IATA sized cary-on case. Topas carry-on, trolleys and 2+4 cases are eqipped with a hinged, removeable divider on the top half as well as hold down straps on the top and bottoms. An accessory divider is optionally available. The Jumbo styles are all supplied with a hanger bar for hangers. The rubber gasket protects contents from moisture and the interior is uneffected by temperature fluctuations!

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Topas line Rimowa introduced a gold anodized version of the Topas in a 6 piece collection consisting of an attache, a beauty case, Wheeled Cabin Trolley and a 26.5" Jumbo Trolley as well as 28 and 31.5" 2+4 styles. They feature upgraded interiors and the attache case has a leather interior.

Rimowa is now supplying the new SALSA series made from super tough and lightweight polycarbonate (the same material used for bullet-proof glass).

The SALSA cases are easily the lightest cases made with a 30" 2 wheel trolley case weighing in at an amazing 8.3 Lb. The SALSA line needs no frame as it simply snaps back into shape when it receives an impact. It is available in four colors, red, azure, silver and black as well as 4 sizes ranging from a 20.5" IATA wheeled carry on to the 30" 2 wheel trolley All have a combination zipper lock for added security. Each case has straps on both sides to keep contents in order and a divider is supplied for the top half of the case. A second divider is available as an accessory for the bottom. The larger trolleys are available in either 2 or 4 wheel styles.

New for 2004/5 is the BOLERO line which combines the SALSA cases with outside pockets for files and organizing. The BOLERO trolleys are available in a 4 wheel design for the three largest ones and a 2 wheel style for the Cabin Trolley.

The Limbo Royal Blue series combines Rimowa's super strong aluminum-magnesium alloy frame from the Topas series with the polycarbonate material of the Salsa series. Rimowa has found a way to add a metallic finish to the polycarbonate which marks the first time this type of finish has been possible on a pure polycarboate material! Thanks to the strong frame the Limbo series uses combination or/and keyed locks as well as Rimowa's strong triple hinge system. Limbo is available in several styles including a notebook computer case, 2 attaches, a beauty case, 4 wheeled trolleys including an IATA sized carry-on and 2 2+4 sizes. Like Topas the frame has a rubber gasket seal to make it water resistant and over sized wheels for easy movement. The trolleys and the 2+4 styles are equipped two hinged dividers as well as straps to keep the contents in place.

Also new from Rimowa are the totally redesigned Attaches in thicknesses from 2.8" to4.7" and in a choice of leather lined or nylon lined interiors! These exciting new aluminum attache cases feature a new lock console that opens both locks at the touch of a single button - but only if the case is right side up!. Upside down opening is a thing of the past with Rimowa business cases. And the nylon lined version is also offered in a size that is perfect for a notebook computer.

For the salesperson or aviator Rimowa offers a range of aluminum Pilot cases including a wheeled trolly version.

Also available is the unique Combi Pilot case that combines an aluminum attache with an aluminum pilot case in one handy unit! This is the case used on the CSI shows every week.
